Future of mobility
Microsoft sql and system center

Van Baker - we Re already in the post pc era. Pc will not go away, but
it is no longer the primary device used to interCt with network
resources.

The notion of personal vs professional use has essentially
disappeared.  The concept of workdays has changed. People switch
between work and personal life throughout the day.

Mobile device management
.. Acceptable device policy, not just an aup. Need an adp.
.. Let employees know why the policies are set up.  Protection from
outside viruses, etc.
.. Set configurations, certificates, etc
.. Register users with appropriate access controls
.. Administer security policies
.. Retire, revoke access, data backup, device wipe or migration
.. Compliance reports, acceptable use, etc

Best to manage the behavior rather than try to manage the technology.

Consumer apps are driving what enterprise apps need to look like and
how they should function. Ease of use.

Context aware applications will come to the forefront based on
location, interests, previous experiences, etc. ... Can you say
minority report?

Applications shrinking to specific tasks with quick turnaround time on
updates and upgrades. Moving away from large comprehensive
applications.

We need to rewrite the web site for mobile users. Small bites, easy to
navigate. Write an app for that using a free tool.  Perhaps use the
app dev tool i have now for navigating the coop web site.

Antenna,  accelerator for app development

Sql will license by core, not processor.  Pay for what you use, pay as
you grow. Cloud optimized flexible to move to cloud if needed.
Sql enterprise for sharepoint.  Standard has 16 core limit.
Enterprise is core only, business intelligence version is server/cal,
standard version is licensed either way.
